Flash Ubiquiti NS2 to DD-WRT v24

Requirements:

  • Direct ethernet cable connection between PC and LiteStation
  • Network settings of PC: 192.168.1.254/255.255.255.0
  • TFTP client on PC
  • LiteStation firmware file (e.g. NS2.dd-wrt.bin for LiteStation5)

Flashing procedure:

  1. Please ensure that the latest firmware revision of Ubiquiti is already installed using the web upgrade utility (e.g.V 2.1.9)
  2. If not, please reflash it using the Ubiquiti NS2 Web interface. This is important to ensure that the latest RedBoot Bootloader
  3. is installed.
  4. power off the device and power it on again while holding the reset button for about ~10 seconds
  5. flash NS2.dd-wrt.bin using tftp to 192.168.1.20 in binary mode
  6. windows : tftp -i 192.168.1.20 put NS2.dd-wrt.bin
  7. linux/unix/macosx: tftp 192.168.1.20
  8. tftp> bin
  9. tftp> put NS2.dd-wrt.bin
  10. tftp> exit
4. after successfully flashing the unit will be accessible with web on 192.168.1.1
